Frequently Asked Questions
Myne Alpha is an early version of the browser, available to a limited group of testers. Some features may be incomplete or unavailable.
We are sorry you faced this issue. Please check that your internet connection is stable and try to restart the installation. If you use a VPN, proxy, or firewall, please try turning it off temporarily and run the installer again. If the issue still happens, please report it directly from the Myne browser: click Feedback in the top bar and select Report an issue. Please include your operating system and a screenshot of the error if possible.
You can report an issue directly from the Myne browser. Click Feedback in the top bar and select Report an issue. Please describe what happened, what you expected to happen, and add steps to reproduce the issue if possible.
Alpha testers can also use the dedicated Discord channel to discuss issues, ask questions, and check updates. However, bug reports should be submitted through Feedback > Report an issue so the Myne team can track them in one place.
In the current Alpha version, the built-in Myne password manager is not available yet. For now, you can continue using the password manager you already trust, such as a standalone password manager app or a browser extension.
After Alpha, the Myne team will use tester feedback, product usage insights, and stability results to improve the browser and prepare for the next release stages. More details about future releases will be shared through official Myne updates.
Myne is designed as a privacy-aware, AI-native browser built around user-owned data principles. AI-chat history is stored in encrypted local storage and is not uploaded to the servers. Some data may be processed only when needed to provide specific features, such as account sign-in, AI responses, product usage analytics, or issue reporting. During Alpha phase, we collect limited product usage data to understand stability and improve the browser. This does not include the content of pages you visit, your search text, or your personal browsing content. When you interact with AI Assistant Adam, your request is encrypted and sent through our servers to trusted AI partners so Adam can generate a response. They are restricted from using your request to train their own models.
For more details about how Myne handles data, please review our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Myne does not use your personal browser data, browsing history, or conversations with AI Assistant Adam to train AI models. If Myne introduces any optional data-sharing or training-related features in the future, they will require clear user consent.
It works inside your browser. It can read and summarize the page you're on, answer questions about its content, and act on the page for you: click buttons and links, type into fields, pick options from dropdowns, and press keys (e.g. Enter to submit). It can also search the web, open URLs, open new tabs, and close the current tab. It handles a few direct lookups too (current weather, city population).
Yes. When you ask "what does this page say?", "summarize this", or "is X mentioned here?", it reads the page's visible, rendered content (the same text a screen reader would see, after the page finishes loading) and answers in plain language.
Yes. Ask it to "click Sign in", "fill in my email", "select 'Newest' in the sort menu", or "submit the form" and it will locate the element on the page and act on it. For things without a visible button — like submitting a search — it can press Enter for you.
By default it acts on the tab you're currently viewing. If you switch tabs, it follows the active tab. It looks at the live page each time, so it's working with what's actually on screen right now — not a stale copy.
The Engagement Program helps the Myne team understand how people interact with the browser during Alpha. By participating, you allow Myne to calculate your Dynamic Engagement Score (DES), which reflects your overall engagement with the product.
DES stands for Dynamic Engagement Score. It is a score calculated based on how you use and explore the browser during the Alpha phase. The goal is to help the team understand product engagement patterns and improve the browser experience.
Participation is optional.
To join, click the Engagement Program icon in the browser top bar and follow the onboarding steps. You'll be asked to review and accept the participation consent, provide the required confirmations, including confirming that you are at least 18 years old, and connect a supported crypto wallet.
Once onboarding is completed, your participation becomes active. Myne Browser will begin tracking eligible engagement signals and calculating your Dynamic Engagement Score (DES).
Connecting a wallet allows the Myne team to associate your participation with a unique identifier.
When you connect your wallet, only your public wallet address is shared to verify your participation in the Engagement Program. Wallet connection does not trigger a blockchain transaction, does not provide access to your funds, and does not require any gas fees.
Participation in the Engagement Program requires connecting a crypto wallet. Since the use of crypto wallets may be subject to age-related legal or regulatory restrictions in certain jurisdictions, participants are required to confirm that they are at least 18 years old before joining the program.
By enrolling, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
DES is calculated using a combination of browser engagement signals, including, but not limited to:
- Time spent in the browser
- Number of active browsing days
- Diversity of websites visited
- Number of tabs used
- Whether Myne is set as your default browser
- The frequency and duration of interactions with Adam
The exact calculation method, weighting of individual signals, and anti-abuse measures are intentionally not disclosed. This helps ensure fair scoring and protects the Engagement Program from manipulation.
No. Myne does not collect the content of pages you visit, your search queries, passwords, messages, or personal browsing content for DES calculations. The program uses limited engagement signals necessary to measure product usage and participation.
DES is evaluated in weekly periods. Your score may change from one period to another depending on your activity.
DES becomes visible only after the first completed evaluation period. If you recently joined the Engagement Program, you may need to wait until the next evaluation cycle finishes.
Total DES represents the total points you have accumulated across all completed evaluation periods since joining the Engagement Program.
Yes. Participation is completely optional. You can stop participating at any time from the top bar icon. Future engagement activity will no longer contribute to DES calculations after you leave the program.
No. Your previously accumulated DES and engagement history remain associated with your account.
You can rejoin the Engagement Program at any time by completing the enrollment process again. Once you rejoin, qualifying activity tracking and DES calculation resume from that moment onward.
Activity that occurred while you were not participating in the Engagement Program is not tracked and is not added retrospectively to your DES history.
No. You can use the browser without joining the Engagement Program. Participation is entirely optional and does not affect core browsing functionality.
During Alpha, DES is used to help the Myne team better understand engagement and improve the product. Any future use cases will be communicated separately if and when they are introduced.
